The Province of Prince Edward Island
The original people of PEI are the MikMaq indians. Prince Edward Island has about 140 thousand people and is 5683 sq km in size.
It is the smallest province in Canada and is known for it's gently rolling landscape. It has miles and miles of sandy beaches and red sandstone cliffs. One of the most beautiful places in Canada.
Prince Edward Island considers itself the "Birthplace of Confederation" because it hosted the inaugural meeting of Confederation in 1867, which led to the creation of Canada.
The name Confederation is used many times in Prince Edward Island. The Confederation Bridgeconnects the Island to the province of New Brunswick.
The most famous person ever to come from Prince Edward Island is Anne of Green Gables, a fictional character in a novel written by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1908. It's the story of an orphan girl send to a couple who expected a boy.
