The museum and Art Gallery scene in Canada is represented by about 2,500 institutions, holding Canada’s collective heritage in trust for the Canadian public. Millions of art works, objects, specimens and documents are preserved for safekeeping and each year, more than 55 million people visit to view their display.
The national organization for the advancement of this community is The Canadian Museum Association.
At The National Gallery of Canada you can enjoy a spectacular view of Parliament Hill from the glass-walled gallery designed by architect Moshe Safdie. The worlds finest collection of Canadian as well as international art is on display.
The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto is Canada's largest one. Travel through Canadian and European history and take in one of many international exhibits. It has dinosaur exhibits, a cave bat and archeological digs.
The Thunder Bay Art Gallery owns hundreds of remarkable works by many of the great Aboriginal artists. It offers a wide range of programs, art classes, art sales and rental service and a unique gift shop.

Founded in 1900 by a group of private citizens, the Art Gallery of Ontario is now the 10th largest art museum in North America, with a physical facility of 486,000 square feet. More than 40% of the collection documents the development of Canada’s art heritage, from pre-Confederation to current times, including one of the largest and finest Inuit art collections in the world.
A log and fieldstone gallery in Kleinburg Ontario houses the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and the finest works of Canada's renowned Group of Seven, Emily Carr, David Milne and acclaimed Inuit artists.
