The top 5 employers are Hamilton Health Sciences Corp, followed by the City itself, then the steel giants Dofasco and Stelco, McMaster University is the 5th largest employer.
EntertainmentThe Royal Botanical Gardens is spectacular with 1100 hectares of cultivated gardens. Each major bloom period has it's own festivals, with family entertainment, botanical displays and crafts. It's a gardeners delight.Dundurn Castle is one of the area's most-recognized landmarks,illustrating the life and times of Sir Allan Napier MacNab (1798 - 1862). It was constructed over a three-year period, and completed by 1835. The Castle, with its gardens, grounds and many unusual outbuildings, was one of the finest estates in the province. Today, it has been restored to the year 1855 and over forty rooms have been furnished to compare the life of a prominent Victorian family with that of their servants.
