This past summer was my first time entering the interior of Algonquin Park I had camped there many times before but only car camping near Highway 60. This year I went with my fiancé, a backpack and a new canoe. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I have been running my own business over the summer and sometimes the stress and work becomes too much.Going away on a weekend camping trip is a way for me to relax, re-energize and gain motivation to start again. We left home on Friday morning, parked our car near the outfitters store and registered with the park rangers. We then took our canoe to Lake Tanamakoon, one of the Lakes in Algonquin Park. Before sundown we had set up our campsite. Our campsite was a small clearingalong the lake. There were no other sites around and we were alone with nature. We made a campfire and cooked ourselves a meal. When we went to sleep at night I was very aware of my surroundings. The sound is totally different from the city. It is so quiet, and because of that, you can hear every sound mother nature makes. It was intense. I slept very well once I was accustomed to the quietness. In the morning we woke up to the sounds of the loon calling. The waters were perfectly calm that morning, they looked like glass. The scenery is breathtaking when the mist rises from the waters, and the sounds are so peaceful. During the day you see and experience nature in its true colours.There are so many different animals to see and many different sounds to hear. We went canoeing in the interior, the tranquility was so relaxing. There are no motorboats passing you, you barely see other canoes and you feel like you are a part of nature. It is something you have to experience because it is not possible to fully explain the feeling you get when you are alone there. In 2 days we only saw another canoe occasionally. In the evening we watched the sunsets, had a campfire and experience nature at its peak. We saw a moose, several otters but no bears, and that's fine with me though. Camping in the interior of Algonquin Park is completely different from camping on one of the campsites along the highway and I would recommend it to everyone Camping EquipmentWe bought most of our Camping Gear online via The Online Bargain Finder.
